Just out of reach
Water falls, picture worthy
Unmistakable sound
magnetizes
All who listen rapt,
wrapped in awe
Water flows
a stream softly glows
gleaming reflection
eyes closed
Serene
Water crashes
Cliffs surrender immovable
never worn away
Seated on thrones
eyes open
to the tidal boundary infinite
Delicate snow turns
Hail chips at the roof
Sheets of ice atop well traveled roads
In need of sand
Dripping in my wall
drip drip drip
Pipes rattle
Shelter sounds precarious
Then storms sudden!
Tides surge, swallowing
anything innocently standing
In their wake as untold grief sets in
Salt water tears flow
I remove my spectacles
cloudy and smeared
Remembering
Us by the waterfall, the sea, the pond, the river
Before flaws dripped steadily in somehow
Wearing away 'til your goodbye
