in the parade of days,
strum our nervous strings

Contrived sound
far removed from
a trio unacclaimed

pleasantness,

the small room,
at a temperature
for life to manage

We spend not money
but time
sparingly

Just so many breaths

A mist appearing
then disappearing,
condensation maintained

Light of day
moves limbs
to growing

Becoming
what we can become

Grasping at clarity
as it sails through the moments
of unpacking
and repacking
successes

Cluttered shelf of missteps,
dusting away their residue

Rearranging them to see
how many victories

  

Unclasped

Interwoven, contracting
suspicion
maps the functional representation
of an ephemeral floor

Where compassion,
a wall of beveled panes
sharply etched
out of floundering temperate vapor

Unclasps
mirrored reflection
and sets recognition out for sale

There an unexpected quiet flicker of a wise pen,
beyond where the stonewall echoes for us,
taps graceful certainty just past
the length of my grasp

Anonymity claims respite,
misshapen scraps of a tree-lined street's
midnight shelter

Clouds pour in
bottled words

As chords dissonant
sound rugged terrain

Widening the gap
between polished answers

A flood of fears
consumes
precious shoreline

Until willing hands
together build on land

Caught in that distance

from freedom

An iron gate
latches shut
by its own weight

while branches share their leaves generously

no questions rush past answering
there

windswept opposing steps

Letting challenges be
through iced over need

Reaching unfiltered sayings midair

Prism thoughts
touch new shapes
past fear's shadow

A generous healing space
  

Brighter Than Day

Gaps eroded,
places where earth took more pieces of tomorrow
than left standing
today
in shadowy echo,
togetherness

Staring up
the quiet veiled light
shouts louder
than a shout
in the night,
