Collapse

Burnt imagination
branding liquid memory
reflects
a vibrance untarnished,
locked away

Frozen underneath
key and all

Sitting by bolt and shutter
with hope of any warmth
to neutralize
a path

Where the sound of hammer
or chisel
could collapse

Could collapse
or chisel
where the sound of hammer,
a path
to neutralize
with hope of any warmth

Sitting by bolt and shutter
key and all

Frozen underneath,
locked away

A vibrance untarnished
reflects
branding liquid memory

A burnt imagination

Branches

Along the edge
of branches

Hope finds
more
parallels

A steadying

Where winds
grow wings

Never For Granted

Never did I know
how past growing
our times
would become

Their value,
to strengthen
by shared smile or laugh,
lightening
our steps

Your part
to play
in my days
became
more to me
than a passing season

Never could I leave
you in the fading,
uprooted, or deny
that we were planted

In that plot of ground
still there,
your life so dear

No never
for granted

Glaring

Your greetings glare
enough to wear
shades

Yet in a dark place

Wanting things from me
I cannot possess.

Wanting things from you
that should be
given freely

Fending
for myself

When I needed to find inspiration
or calmness
in the storms
of consternation

For only more and rapidly
move the storm clouds

Abundantly
from your direction

Sheltering Transparently

Light
like a stream
conscious

Shelters
transparently

A force-field glowing
flowing
fluid through and around
pillars

Those places
pinning me to them forever

What Will I Not Share?

Some priceless treasures are meant
to be protected behind polished glass,
never to be leant
or given away

Virtue
                       Lifeblood
        Health

Some treasures are heirlooms,
meant for inheritance, never to be sold

Some treasures are meant to be of service
to many, not just few

Some priceless gifts are all three:
To be appreciated, for inheritance, for service

Faith
                  Hope
      Love

An Honest Gaze

Through a time
passing by my
window

There's a space
of grace
to carry

Long enough
to remember,
wide enough to notice

A freeze on seeds of truth
before all growth is lost

Creating an honest gaze

Lowering

Fog settles in again
Lowering a curtain

Where a voice to sing
worth remembering

Stays to take a bow
and encore allows

Lowering a curtain
on anything certain

Shadows seize all thought,
none there to be forgot

That Bridge

Sparks fly
far away from here

Times never to be commemorated
or celebrated

Closing
that bridge
of laughter then
to now

Its echo
heavier
than I can carry
