Fading Threads

Flannel
softens with each cycle of worn threads

Worn souls
through cycles of dark
and light

Mixed up colors wash and fade
lights darken
darks lighten

A soul dims
shifting
its fading threads

    patches of cloth
    heal worn threads
    so that with each stitch
    strength renews them
